June Tournaments & Special Dining
Diamante’s The Classic, The Invitational and Diamonds @ Diamante
The Diamante Golf Department just completed delivering a full month of June guest tournaments for all Diamante Golf Associations. These annual events are the premier highlight for members and their guests by providing competitive rounds of golf, generous tee gifts, gourmet dining, formation of new friendships and a good deal of player camaraderie.
Chef Noralee Bowles treated all golfers to gourmet cuisine during each event.
The men’s event began the month with The Classic which fielded a full 96-player event that completed with a thrilling Championship Shootout won by member Rob Bowers and his guest John Bowers.
Eight flights competed in the three-day tournament with these winners:
Flight 1: 1st Place – Charles Veazey and guest Mark Greene
2nd Place – Rick Maxey and his guest Randy Maxey
Flight 2: 1st Place – Randy Bergfield and his guest Tim Weir
2nd Place – Dennis Smith and his guest Mike Mosing
Flight 3: 1st Place – Johnny Hibbs and his guest Parker Clay
2nd Place – Jim Robinson and his guest Gene Boyd
Flight 4: 1st Place - Bill McGhee and his guest Roger Clement
2nd Place – Mark Hittner and his guest Mike Nell
Flight 5: 1st Place - Cliff Johnson and his guest Steve McKern
2nd Place – Mark Price and his guest Roger Hettenhausen
Flight 6: 1st Place – Rob Bowers and his guest John Bowers
2nd Place – Doug McIntire and his guest Grady Crosland
Flight 7: 1st Place – John Matthews and his guest Wayne Kovar
2nd Place – Frank Godbold and his guest Jerry Pruden
Flight 8: 1st Place – Larry Blevins and his guest Tony King
2nd Place – Dan Quandt and his guest Bob Hartsfield
Two women’s’ events led off the next tournaments beginning with the 9-hole 2023 Invitational. Of the three flights the individual flight winners were:
Jazzy Jetsetter Flight:

2nd Net – member Kathy Carter, Carmen McHaney, member Trish Machuca, Karen Share

Chic Cruisers Flight:

The Diamonds @ Diamante completed the month with the traditional 18-hole women’s event. Members and guests competed in a day one shootout event by flight followed by two days of competition. Flight winners were:

2nd Place Net - Lori McGhee and guest Amy Jacobsen
